We are building a talented team to harness the data from UAV flights. HealthyDrones provides pilots and operators innovative flight analysis that matters. We are looking for top-notch engineers with experience building and scaling SaaS applications and / or cloud-based platforms to join us.



Title: Senior Backend Developer
Location: El Dorado Hills, CA area

Our ideal candidate will bring:
  • Experience building big data analytics environments
  • Knowledge of various distributed database technologies
  • Passion for data analytics - you're a math geek
  • Foresight to build scale for the future
  • Critical thinking to solve hard problems
What you'll do (Responsibilities):
  • Develop and enhance our core backend product
  • Define and develop algorithms and applications to translate our data into flight intelligence
  • Improve the quality of the existing backend and develop new internal and external capabilities
  • Implement horizontally scaled out services, which allow thousands of concurrent pilots and millions of flights
What we're looking for:
  • Perl expert with significant application development experience
  • Bash scripting experience
  • Mysql expertise and comprehensive understanding of SQL statements, indexes and optimizations
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure such as Linode and AWS
  • Experience working with extremely large data sets
  • Ability to work-well in a cross functional, fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Things that would make you stand out (Preferred Skills):
  • CentOS administration and familiarity with its limitations
  • PHP development and understanding of front end mechanisms
  • Experience with credit card/paypal integrations
  • Experience with Google Maps APIs and geospatial analysis
  • Motivation to learn new skills, programming languages and technologies
  • Drone fanatic (preferred, but we'll take enthusiasts too..)



Title: Senior Web Developer
Location: El Dorado Hills, CA area

Our ideal candidate will bring:
  • 5+ years of development experience in PHP
  • Fluent in HTML, CSS, jQuery and Ajax
  • Strong with Javascript, HTML 5 and various frameworks such as Angular, React, jQuery, etc.
  • Experience with Bootstrap and responsive design
  • Experience with SQL based database systems, optimization of SQL statements for UI calls and minimizing backend load
  • Experience building large scale backend systems and very large sets of data
  • Experience building web-based interfaces for both desktop and mobile
  • Ability to visualize data in creative and intuitive ways
What you'll do (Responsibilities):
  • Design and write code to develop our web services
  • Build applications using new cutting edge technologies
  • Improve the quality of the existing UI and develop new user-facing features
  • Drive UI innovation through new data visualizations
  • Implement horizontally scaled out web interfaces, allowing thousands of concurrent pilots and supporting millions of flights
  • Contribute to expanding and scaling out our PHP/MySQL applications

  • Self-motivated and ability to work well in a small team
  • Basic understanding of drones
  • Ability to work-well in a cross functional, fast-paced environment

Title: Customer Support Engineer
Location: El Dorado Hills, CA area

Our ideal candidate will bring:
  • Experience in a customer support role in a SaaS company for complex technical products
  • An ability to quickly diagnose and triage issues from log files - you are the troubleshooter extraordinaire who solves the hardest problems and explains them in the simplest terms
  • Exemplary written communication skills both in terms of communicating with customers and documenting processes for scale
  • A passion for flying drones
What you'll do (Responsibilities):
  • Help users resolve issues with using our service to get the information they need from their drone flights
  • Educate users about best practices and product features and training resources
  • Actively monitor and participate in our user forum
  • Identify and escalate bugs to our product and engineering teams
  • Monitor and analyze operational KPIs to improve our service and support.
  • Be the 'voice' of the customer to drive meaningful product enhancements
What we're looking for:
  • 5+ yrs in a technical support role
  • Self-motivated and ability to work well in a small team
  • Basic understanding of drones
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience with Jira, or other ticketing systems
  • Ability to work-well in a cross functional, fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor's degree, preferred
Things that would make you stand out (Preferred Skills):
  • Experience as a drone pilot, or in the UAV community
  • Knowledge in Bash and MySQL queries
  • Technical acumen
  • Experience supporting distributed cloud environments

Title: DevOps Engineer/SysAdmin
Location: El Dorado Hills, CA area

Our ideal candidate will bring:
  • Experience managing and scaling SaaS and cloud platforms
  • Strong Linux expertise - You're a Linux Ninja
  • Experience implementing JIRA or similar ticketing system
  • Know how to build brand new platforms and backend services
  • Critical thinking to solve hard problems
What you'll do (Responsibilities):
  • Responsible for all aspects of our production environment as well as our internal systems
  • Work with R&D to implement horizontally scaled out compute and storage resources
  • Implement various monitoring systems with performance and availability in mind
  • Manage bug tracking, build and source code repository systems
  • Contribute to expanding and scaling out our backend applications
What we're looking for:
  • 5+ years of experience in a DevOps or SysAdmin role
  • Expert in CentOS system administration
  • Strong knowledge in network administration
  • Fluent in Bash and Perl
  • Experience managing large MySQL deployments
  • Experience in building, deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining web services
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure such as Linode and AWS
  • Experience working with large databases and data sets
  • Ability to work-well in a cross functional, fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Things that would make you stand out (Preferred Skills):
  • PHP development experience
  • S3 or NoSQL knowledge

Title: Senior Mobile Development Engineer/Lead
Location: El Dorado Hills, CA area

Our ideal candidate will bring:
  • Experience building apps on both Android and iOS platforms
  • Familiarity with native code on each platform
  • Experience through the entire app building lifecycle: from inception to broad adoption and rave customer reviews
  • Understand mobile user flow and come up with create ways to enhance it
  • Critical thinking to solve hard problems
What you'll do (Responsibilities):
  • Design, build and lead the flagship apps on both Android and iOS
  • Define new mobile use cases and functionality
  • Work closely with the backend team to optimize API calls
What we're looking for:
  • Experience developing for both iOS and Android
  • Understanding of the native capabilities
  • Experience with the release process on both platforms
  • Experience developing for scale: API optimization and display techniques

Title: Community Manager
Location: San Francisco Bay Area or El Dorado Hills, CA area

Our ideal candidate will bring:
  • Outstanding writing and communication skills
  • Experience managing large scale community forums with global user communities
  • Understanding of how best to leverage social networking sites and related forums
  • A passion for flying drones
What you'll do (Responsibilities):
  • Manage our user forum, Facebook and Twitter activities.
  • Connect users to 'meaningful' content
  • Educate users about our service and capabilities across social platforms
  • Answer questions about our service, and escalate issues
  • Develop strategies to amplify our presence on other drone related forums and sites
  • Listen and engage in relevant discussions about our company and our market across all social channels
  • Identify and engage key influencers to increase awareness and advocacy
What we're looking for:
  • 5+ years experience building / managing communities
  • Self-motivated and ability to work well in a small team
  • Basic understanding of drones
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience across all major social media platforms
  • Strong analytic-bent with great attention to detail
  • Bachelor's degree, preferred
